The Yoga Method of Chenrezig

The Yoga Method of Chenrezig: Sadhana and Commentary
Extensive sadhana of 1000 Arm Chenrezig by Lama Zopa Rinpoche and accompanying commentary by Bhikshuni Thubten Chodron

First published in 2003 by
FPMT, USA.

Also known as Avalokiteshvara, Kuan Yin, and Kannon, Chenrezig is the Buddha of Compassion. Chenrezig is also our best friend. Could we have a better friend than Chenrezig? Is there anyone who could care about us more or help us more than the Great Compassionate One? But as with all friendships, we have to cultivate the relationship. We can't just take it for granted. Our daily meditation on Chenrezig is like touching base with our best friend every day, and doing Chenrezig retreat is like going on vacation with the one we love the most. It's something we can take delight in and appreciate.

This spiral bound book contains a meditation practice (sadhana) for Thousand-Arm Chenrezig that combines a short sadhana composed by Lama Zopa Rinpoche with elements of the longer sadhana written by the Seventh Dalai Lama. The commentary on the practice is by Bhikshuni Thubten Chodron. A Western nun, Bhikshuni Chodron's inspiring and oftentimes humorous commentary offers us tips on how to make this practice relevant to our lives by meditating on emptiness, compassion, and deity yoga.

Highly recommended reading for anyone doing Nyung.na or any other Chenrezig practice.
