Timeless Wisdom: Being the Knowing (DVD)
|
|
In 1995, Ajahn Amaro from Amaravati Monastery in the UK and Ven. Chodron did a talk together called “Timeless Wisdom: Being the Knowing.” They discuss Buddhist meditation and philosophy. They also relate how they, as westerners, found their way to Buddhism and monastic life. Both Ven. Chodron and Ven. Amaro are heads of their own monasteries, have lectured and taught around the world, and have published many books. This talk, along with some recent short teachings, is now available on DVD.
It’s a great video; here’s a ten minute excerpt from it. |

Blurb:
Thank you for publishing the Guided Mediations on the Stages of the Path. I have used it for about a year and have found it a great book. When I felt that my morning meditation was not progressing well I took a lead from my friend Mike who had copied the CD with the meditations onto his iPod. I copied the CD onto my laptop so I could use your inspiring words as the leader of my meditations. It was a great success and has improved my meditation a hundred fold. It is just like having you teach me every time I meditate - Bob |

Cultivating a Compassionate Heart: The
Yoga Method of Chenrezig
by Ven. Thubten Chodron |
|
Perhaps the most widely known and loved deity
throughout the Buddhist world, Chenrezig -- also known as Avalokiteshvara,
Kuan Yin, or Kannon -- is the Buddha of Compassion. Buddhists turn
to Chenrezig for protection, friendship, and inspiration on a daily
basis. The meditation practice in this book -- composed by a teacher
with an extensive Western following -- is presented as a useful
manual for ease of practice. An enlightening -- and often humorous
-- commentary by Ven. Chodron offers instructions and tips on making
the practice even more relevant to daily life.
